Fulham 2-3 Liverpool: 5 Things We Learned

5. Liverpool Are Not Reliant On Luis Suarez's Goals

In the early part of the season accusations were made against Liverpool that they were a one-man team. Luis Suarez was scoring at will, netting nearly a goal a game despite missing the opening six fixtures through suspension. Given those claims, it is a surprise to see that the Uruguayan has only scored one of Liverpool's last 13 goals. The statistic speaks volumes and demonstrates that Rodgers' squad have learnt not to be reliant on their top goal-scorer. That is not to say Suarez's form has dipped, far from it. The 27-year-old was a constant nuisance against Fulham, tying youngster Dan Burn in knots on several occasions and testing the hands of Maarten Stekelenburg more than once. However, other players have now stepped forward to help shoulder the responsibility of finding the net. Notably Daniel Sturridge is enjoying a rich vein of form and the England striker is now the first Liverpool player to score in seven consecutive games. Philippe Coutinho and Raheem Sterling are also weighing in with their fair share of goals, Sterling netted twice on Saturday while Coutinho picked up his third of the season against the Cottagers. Both players are proving that there is more to their game than quick feet and trickery. As he said in the press conference after the match, Rodgers is building a team which does not rely on a sole individual - it is about the collective. Judging by their latest performance, the Liverpool manager's plan is working.
