Fulham Transfer News: Kostas Mitroglou Deal Confirmed - £12 Million

Olympiakos forward Kostas Mitroglou has completed his estimated £12 million move to Fulham, fending off interest from London rivals West Ham United. (SkySportsNews) The 25 year old was available last year for just £4 million, but his impressive form this season in the Greek domestic league and in the Champions League has seen his value increase dramatically. He has scored 14 goals in 12 league appearances plus three in five Champions League games, all three coming against Anderlecht. It is still uncertain how much he moved for, but £12 million is the reported fee, which would be Fulham's record signing, taking over from Steve Marlet's £11.6 million deal in 2001. The arrival of the Greek is likely to see current striker Dimitar Berbatov leave the club this evening, with big spenders Monaco and a possible return to Tottenham Hotspur the likely destinations. Fulham Head Coach Rene Meulensteen will hoping Mitroglou won't be the last new face to arrive at Craven Cottage, with Swansea City's Neil Taylor, Everton's Johnny Heitinga and young Manchester United pair Ryan Tunnicliffe and Larnel Cole potentially following him. Tottenham midfielder Lewis Holtby has already signed on loan for the rest of the season, a deal which also took place today.
