When it comes to former players that a lot of Rangers fans are routinely split on, Steven Naismith is the prime example. Yes, there were those who understood the uncertainty surrounding the future of Glasgow Rangers in the Summer of 2012, but it was still a little jarring to see players who had previously professed their love and loyalty to the club, such as Naismith, then run a million miles in the opposite direction.

A lot of supporters expected guys like Naismith to sign on at Rangers and net the club a transfer fee, rather than simply bolting at the first opportunity, but that's exactly what happened. An incredibly popular player during his time with the Gers, the former Kilmarnock hit man left a bitter taste in the mouths of many with his words after leaving the club, which seemed to suggest he'd been hard done by.

Spending a lot of time on the injury list, Rangers stood by Steven Naismith, but it seems he wasn't willing to do the same. Even so, after leaving Scotland in 2012, Naismith signed for Everton, and he has shown himself to be a steal for the Merseyside team. Never spectacular, he's a workhorse who sets up goals more than scores them.
