7. John Fleck

One common complaint amongst Rangers fans since the club was placed in the old Third Division/fourth tier of Scottish football is that there hasn't been enough emphasis on youth. In fact, there's an argument to be made that Rangers had the chance to really develop their youth system upon the sorry events of the 2012 Summer.

Murray Park, the world class training centre owned by the club, has rarely pumped out anywhere close to enough talent, but one young player who did show real promise was John Fleck. The attacking midfielder was a star in both the Under 17 and Under 20 sides, and even though he was diminutive and still effectively a boy, Walter Smith couldn't help but call him up as a regular in 2009.

Reinvigorating the side, Fleck was a battling kind of player, but it really seemed like all the attention was going to his head. After signing a new 3-year contract in 2010, he started to fall out of the team, and was loaned out to Sheffield United. England would become a new home for the youngster, as he signed for Coventry City in July, 2012, after refusing to transfer over his contract from Rangers old business to the new one in charge, and he's been there ever since.
