Sunderland fans can expect Gus Poyet to give this his best shot, but should ultimately anticipate another difficult season. There's a variety of factors working against Poyet, one of which being the fact he has inherited a squad who are yet to win a game in the Premier League this season. He also has a tough run of fixtures to handle almost immediately, while he himself lacks Premier League experience. The Uruguayan may have taken Brighton into the Championship Play-Offs but lost out to Crystal Palace, who were ultimately promoted into England's top division after seeing off Watford in the final. That means Poyet has never managed in the topflight, and while he will be hoping his time at Spurs under Juande Ramos will help, this inexperience could prove costly. It remains to be seen how well he fares, but Sunderland fans shouldn't expect miracles.
