6. Ryan Babel

Ryan Babel arrived at Anfield with the world at his feet; he was one of the hottest prospects in the world. His pace, flair and trickery had dazzled fans and scouts and despite the hefty fee (
£11.5 million), there was genuine excitement amongst the Kop upon securing Babel's signature. Of course, it never quite turned out the way everyone imagined. Ryan Babel played 146 games for Liverpool - on the face of it, not a flop at all, but given his potential and transfer fee, he was one of the biggest disappointments at all. Babel was extremely inconsistent at best - looking a world-beater one week, a Sunday league player trying to do too many step overs the next. Babel's time at Liverpool is probably best know for his winner against Manchester United, his great impact against Arsenal in the Champions League or his world class goal against Lyon. Apart from those three instances, Babel did very little and constantly disappointed and frustrated his coaches and fans for the four years he was there.
