Liverpool News: Carlo Ancelotti To Replace Brendan Rodgers As Manager Next Season?

CalcioMercato. The former Chelsea and AC Milan boss is reportedly seen as the man to take over the reins at Anfield following a disappointing campaign under the Northern Irishman, who has only managed to guide the Reds to a 7th placed finish during his first season so far. That's just one spot higher than last term's eighth placed finish and the club's hierarchy are reportedly far from impressed. Rodgers arrived at Liverpool last summer following a successful campaign with Swansea City and though the club's American owners wouldn't have expected him to make an immediate impact at the club, they know a fourth successive season without Champions League football will make it increasingly more difficult to hold on to key players. Carlo Ancelotti, who won the Premier League with Chelsea in 2010, has guided PSG to the top of Ligue 1 and his side are safely through to the quarter finals of Europe's top club competition. The French outfit have enjoyed a remarkable turnaround in fortunes following the take-over by Qatar-owned investors and have signed world class players such as Lucas Moura, Zlatan Ibrahimovi‡ and even David Beckham.
