He will have to move quickly, however, with news that Inter Milan have now entered the race likely to cause alarm at Anfield. The Italian giants are on the look out for a right-sided player after Javier Zanetti was ruled out for a lengthy period of time having ruptured his Achilles' tendon, and they could now rival Liverpool for the youngster's signature. Montoya, who has been at Barcelona his entire career having emerged from the youth ranks there, has made over 100 appearances for the Catalans, who are likely to demand a sizable transfer fee for the talented fullback, and both sides look set to trigger a bidding war in the summer.
