Liverpool Transfer News: Luis Suarez Tops Bayern Munich Wish List

Independent. The former Barcelona boss has already began planning ahead for his first season in charge of the Bundesliga leaders and has earmarked Luis Suarez as the man he wants to spearhead his attack. French newspaper L'Equipe reports that the Spaniard will be handed a staggering £240 million transfer kitty to spend this summer to revamp the Bayern side. Along with Suarez, Guardiola is also eyeing up a move for Atletico Madrid sensation Radamel Falcao. Liverpool will be of a strong bargaining position however as the Uruguayan is contracted at Anfield until at least 2018, and will be reluctant in letting their top goalscorer leave. However, the lure of playing in the Champions League might be too tempting for Suarez to resist. Bayern Munich were defeated finalists last season while Liverpool have not contested Europe's top competition for three seasons, and look likely to miss out this term, too. Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard recently expressed his fears that the striker could leave if Liverpool fail to qualify for the Champions League for a fourth successive season, whilst similar sentiments were echoed by Anfield boss Brendan Rodgers. There has also been talk that the Uruguayan could be "driven out" of English football, according to former Liverpool director Damien Comolli, referring to the negative press that has followed a string of high-profile and controversial incidents involving Suarez. It is unlikely that Suarez would be allowed to leave for anything less than £40 million.
