Liverpool Transfer News: Mamadou Sakho Deal Close?

Liverpool Echo. PSG are wiling to listen to offers for the 23-year-old and the Reds have stepped up their interest this week after losing Sebastian Coates for an indeterminate amount of time to a knee injury. Sakho, who is a product of PSG's youth academy and has been with the French champions since 2002, is one of two players Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is hoping to sign before next Tursday's transfer deadline. The Northern Irishman is also keen on bringing in Chelsea's Victor Moses on a season-long loan deal, but the Blues would prefer to sell the Nigeria international for £2 million. Rodgers is hoping to secure a deal on reduced terms and is reluctant to match the winger's £55,000-a-week salary. Meanwhile, the Reds manager also insisted Italian striker Fabio Borini would not be loaned out this season as Real Madrid prepare a dramatic bid to sign Luis Suarez if they sell Karim Benzema to Arsenal. Should the Gunners be successful in their attempts to lure Benzema to Emirates Stadium, Liverpool could suffer from a knock-on effect with Madrid eyeing up the Uruguayan as their ideal replacement this summer.
