Liverpool Transfer News: Pepe Reina To AC Milan?

AC Milan are preparing to make move for Liverpool's long-serving goalkeeper Pepe Reina.

The Daily Mail. The Italian giants missed out on the Serie A title to Juventus next month and are looking to rebuild their squad from top to bottom ahead of next season's campaign. Milan's current number 1 Christian Abbiati turns 35-year-old this summer and despite becoming a cult figure at the club, Milan head coach Massimiliano Allegri is not at all convinced that he is still good enough at the top level. Allegri is looking for a top goalkeeper in Europe and has set his sights firmly on the Anfield number one. Reina is settled on Merseyside and has a great affection for the club but he has grown tired of Liverpool being in transition and starting again every season recently under a new manager. AC Milan would offer him Champions League football and the opportunity to challenge for titles and put last season's nightmare totally out of his mind. The former Villareal goalkeeper is currently away on Euro 2012 duty with Spain and has not yet met with Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers. Milan are not expected to make an offer until Reina returns.
