Liverpool Transfers: 10 Dream Alternatives To Loic Remy

After rejecting Loic Remy, who else could Liverpool chase to bolster their front line?

After pulling the plug on Loic Remy's £8.5 million move to Anfield, last season's Premier League runners up Liverpool are set to dive back in to the transfer market immediately to find an alternative in their search to replace the recently sold Luis Suarez. Remy had looked all set for a move to Anfield but the Reds made the decision to withdraw from the transfer because of concerns over the Frenchman's medical examination, which reportedly revealed a long-standing heart problem - though not if Harry Redknapp is to be believed. Remy, who was said to be distraught after the move fell through, will now find himself heading back to QPR after a successful spell on loan at Newcastle last season with question marks over his immediate future. But what of Brendan Rodgers' side? Having signed Rickie Lambert to add to their front line so far this summer, the Liverpool boss is said to be looking around for another striker to come in and help replace the goals that Suarez scored last season - though the latest reports now suggest that Liverpool will lose out to Tottenham in the race for another Southampton striker in Jay Rodriguez. Although the Reds have already spent nearly £80 million so far this summer, they are hoping to do more big business ahead of their new Premier League season, which begins with a home fixture against Southampton on August 16th. Liverpool are preparing themselves for an assault on the Champions League as well as the Premier League next term and still have some of the £75 million they received for Suarez in the bank. Here are ten players Liverpool should consider signing instead, given their rather large bank balance.
