Liverpool Transfers: 10 Game-Changing Players Rodgers Must Sign In January

3. Hernanes

Hernanes CC Lazio's Brazilian playmaker could be the real answer to Liverpool's tedious central midfield displays. Even with the signing of Joe Allen, Liverpool seem to be lacking real bite or creativity in the centre. Nuri Sahin has been a massive boost but he hasn't been able to have the desired effect that some were possibly expecting. Hernanes is a player who is strong, scores loads of goals, a free kick specialist and has real flair, something which Liverpool are severely lacking in midfield. Apart from Steven Gerrard, there isn't really a natural midfield playmaker as Sahin has stated he would prefer to play in a deeper role, but also there isn't anyone who can take a game by the scruff of the neck. Whether Hernanes would be able to do what he does for Lazio in the Premier League is unknown but Liverpool need a lively midfielder who can spray passes, create and ultimately be the successor to Steven Gerrard. The only problem with Hernanes is that he can sometimes be complacent and a tad lazy, if you see him in Italian cup matches or games that aren't blockbusters he tends to drift in and out of the action so there may be some issues in that regard. The price of Hernanes may also cause a stumbling block as he's pretty much Lazio's main man and may cost upwards of at least fifteen million pounds.
