Liverpool Transfers: 10 Game-Changing Players Rodgers Must Sign In January

4. Christian Eriksen

Another attacking playmaker, the Ajax midfielder Eriksen plays in the same way as Wesley Sneijder, sometimes as a box to box player and other times right up behind the strikers. He's 20 years old and has already earned 30 caps for Denmark. The only sticking point would be the transfer fee as Eriksen has a handful of admirers in a number of leagues around Europe. He hasn't really sparkled in the Champions League this season, and often went missing in the games against Real Madrid and Manchester City. He's a fantastic prospect at his age and the amount of games he's played for Ajax, it seems unlikely however that Liverpool would spend what it would take on a player who is relatively unproven in massive games, but then again they spent a fair amount of money on players like Jordan Henderson who simply haven't raised their game enough to shine for the club. Eriksen may not want to move to a club in decline like Liverpool when there are teams like Manchester United, Manchester City, Inter Milan and others interested in him.
