Last summer Liverpool raided Southampton, for three of their star performers from 2013-14 season in Adam Lallana, Rickie Lambert and Dejan Lovren. Surprisingly, Lallana the only one to prove his worth thus far. It could be argued that they missed out on Southamptons true star player in French international Morgan Schneiderlin. The defensive midfielder has been a strong part of Southamptons surge for Champions League football. Schneiderlin is one of the best holding midfielders in the Premier League, he is an enforcer and he could be the answer to help Dejan Lovrens Liverpool career because the Croatian was so confident with Schneiderlin in front of him. The top sides in the Premier League both have an enforcer in their midfield, Chelsea have Nemanja Matic and Manchester City have Yaya Toure, they are players that take control of the midfield and bully opposition players. The reason for Liverpool failing to win the league last season was that they conceding too many goals, and the defence received a lot of criticism for that. They didnt have a naturally defensive midfielder to protect them. Schneiderlin would allow Liverpool to adapt their system in a number of ways, he can play in a midfield two, three and even on his own allowing creativity of player like Lallana and Phillipe Coutinho to trouble the opposition. Schneiderlin is the answer to the overriding issue of Brendan Rodgers side and to turn them into a top side.
