3. Carlos Vela
If Luis Suarez joins Arsenal, Liverpool could do worse than turning to ex-Arsenal striker Carlos Vela. Some hardened English football fans may laugh at that, remembering his uninspiring time at Arsenal and not knowing the impact he has made at Real Sociedad. Velas Arsenal misery ended last season when he signed for Socieded for around
£4 million. Last season he helped Real Sociedad return to the Champions League after several years of absence from the competition. He made 38 appearances and contributed 14 goals and nine assists. There had been rumours that he may return to Arsenal but if Suarez moved to the Emirates that would be extremely unlikely. Vela predominantly played on the right of attack last season but is more than capable of playing down the middle. Vela can play in all three striking positions which would make him perfect for Liverpool and Brendan Rodgers. Rodgers likes to play a 4-3-3 and likes his front three strikers to interchange and gel and Vela would be brilliantly suited to that. Whether Vela would leave Sociedad and the Champions League is up for debate. But the challenge of helping Liverpool back into the Champions League again like he did with Sociedad and the chance to prove himself in England might be too hard to turn down.
