Liverpool Transfers: Reds Still Fighting For Danny Ings

NO deal in place for Burnley striker yet.

It seems those reports of Danny Ings signing a pre-contract deal at Real Sociedad might have been premature. Sky Sports' Spanish expert Guillem Balague has confirmed that the deal is not yet done and that it's now down to a two horse race between David Moyes' side and Liverpool, who remain keen to sign him. Liverpool had hoped to sign him permanently and loan him back to Burnley until the summer, but that didn't fit with Premier League rules and alternative avenues had to be pursued. The only option then would be to snap him up on a pre-contract - something they will want to do before he goes and scores 5 or 6 more goals this season and attracts a few more suitors. For now it seems to be a case of choosing Spain or Liverpool; and playing guaranteed first team football on the continent or playing a supporting role in a squad rotation system at Liverpool. He had to decide what matters most to him after helping Burnley stay in the Premier League. Do you think Ings would be a good signing for Liverpool? Share your thoughts below in the comments thread.
