2. Trust Abou Diaby
The Arsenal midfield is riddled with small, physically unimposing midfielders who ply their trade in dazzling their opponents with short, quick passes. Diaby, at 6' 2'', is the one midfielder who can claim his space in the middle of the pitch and dominate possession, as his size and impressive physique makes it difficult even for tough tackling opponents to rob him of the ball. He is not as domineering as the powerful Yaya Toure, but his advances into the final third causes chaos and panic as he shrugs off defenders like flies. Like Santi Carzola, he is not afraid to shoot outside of the box, which adds a much needed dimension to Arsenal's game plan. He is often criticized for not being good enough at the passing game, but keep in mind that he has only just begun getting his career back on track after spending so much of his time at Arsenal injured in the sidelines. He also has a reputation for losing his cool in the heat of the moment, but his past two performances in this new season has so far been more encouraging than not. With Jack Wilshere and Tomas Rosicky out of action for the time being, Diaby should be given his chance to shine.
