Liverpool vs Arsenal: 5 Ways Gunners Must Stop Reds

For Arsenal to have a chance of winning against Liverpool on Sunday, they need to be consistently strong in five areas.

Arsenal decided not to do any last minute window shopping to fill out their squad for the 2012/2013 Premier League season. Instead, they decided to lighten their wage bill by sending both Nicklas Bendtner and Ju Young Park out on loan deals. This means that the squad as it stands will have to bear the pressure of the game of the week against Liverpool this Sunday. The Merseyside team sent out Andy Carroll on loan and sold Charlie Adam on the last day of the transfer window. The Reds have had a terrible start to the 2012/2013 campaign with a 3-0 loss to West Bromwich Albion. They bounced back in their second game to tie the defending champions Manchester City 2-2 in a game that saw them lead twice. The pressure is already on the new coach Brendan Rogers as he has deemed several of the players that were brought in by former coach Kenny Dalglish as not good enough for his system. The Cop and Liverpool's American owners are looking on with more than mild interest. Arsenal, on the other hand, are searching for their first win of the season after they tied their first two games by 0-0 margins. While this 2012/2013 version of the gunners have looked a better defensive side, they are yet to score a goal, and given the backdrop of losing their top scorer Robin Van Persie (30 goals in the Premier League), the fans are keen to see where the lost goals will come from. For Arsenal to have a chance of winning against Liverpool on Sunday, they need to be consistently strong in five areas. I will take each in turn:
