1. Steven Gerrard's Slip
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sBuOEI2Kk5o This was always only going to be number one, wasn't it? Liverpool were not remotely fancied to mount a genuine Premier League title challenge at the start of the 2013/14 season, with some not even predicting a top-four finish. Brendan Rodgers' side produced a sensational second-half of the campaign though, inspired by the performances of Luis Suarez, Daniel Sturridge, Raheem Sterling and, of course, a revitalised Gerrard in a new deep-lying midfield role. The Reds won 11 Premier League on the spin, and with three games remaining, they knew that seven points from that trio of matches would clinch league glory for the first time in 24 years. They faced Chelsea at Anfield in late April, and with Jose Mourinho resting key players ahead of their Champions League semi-final with Atletico Madrid, many felt Liverpool had it in the bag. After a cagey opening 45, disaster struck seconds before the break. Gerrard, who is an icon to a generation of Reds fanatics, and arguably the finest player ever to wear a Liverpool shirt, lost control of the ball in his own half and slipped, allowing Demba Ba to stride through and finish clinically past Simon Mignolet. Rodgers' men never recovered from that setback after the interval, and Willian scored in stoppage-time to complete an utterly devastating afternoon for the Merseysiders. City went on to win the title, and Gerrard's slip surely blew his finest opportunity to win a Premier League title. We still love him though.
