5 Great Reasons to Remember Luis Suárez
5. His Passion

One thing nobody can take away from Suárez is his unbelievable passion. He's like a kid on the playground. Chasing lost causes, running down blind alleys and making untidy deflections look majestic. He has a genuine love for football and this shows when he's out on the pitch. He plays every game like it's his last one and he acts as if winning or losing means life or death. As soon as he enters those white lines he becomes a 90 minute juggernaut hell bent on finding that latest fix of the drug we call victory. Perhaps, this uncontrollable passion is one of the reasons he gets into so much trouble - the quest for victory seems to overtake the need to be a decent human being and therefore, we see the flashes of Suárez we don't want to see. Despite all the problems it may cause, it is his passion that makes Suárez such a fantastic entertainer and footballer. Take that away and he'd be nowhere near the player he currently is. You can compare this to another young sportsmen in the form of Romain Grosjean - the F1 driver for the Lotus team. Last year he got into countless accidents and he was destroyed by the press and the other big names in F1. This year he's emerged a totally different driver - muzzled and castrated. He's not the driver he was because that burning desire to go quicker and quicker has now died down a little and has been replaced by a need to simply finish without incident. Suárez may be heading down a similar path. I hope he isn't but if he is I know that this is one of the better reasons I'll remember El Pistolero.
