Man City 3-1 Everton: 5 Observations From The Game
4. The Joe Hart Problem Isn't Solved Yet
A match-winning performance aside, Joe Hart probably endured the next best thing after the midweek horror show against Bayern Munich relative anonymity. Despite some probing runs from the visitors, most of the action took place in the Everton half, leaving England's number one had relatively little to do. Yet when called upon, the old worries still remained there was a shaky moment when he attempted to sell Romelu Lukaku a dummy, which went exactly how you might imagine. Unfortunately, England's number one couldn't keep a clean sheet today either and despite assurances from manager Manuel Pellegrini that he was not at fault, it is thought he could've got a stronger hand onto Lukaku's neat finish. However, despite all this it can be said that Hart had a relatively quiet day at the office. But still, there will be harder tests than Martinez's cowed Everton, and he will need to prove himself In those situations to truly banish the doubts.
