Manchester City will have to spend £20 million if they wish to land Liverpool defender Daniel Agger.

Sun, Manchester City will have to spend £20 million if they wish to land Liverpool defender Daniel Agger. Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini is keen to add the Danish defender to his backline in an attempt to retain the Premier League trophy. Agger, 27, still has two years left on his contract however he has been heavily linked with a move to the Eithad stadium all summer. Agger has stated he is happy at Anfield despite the speculation, although his agent Per Steffensen admitted there have been no contract talks with Liverpool over a new deal. Daniel Agger has been at Liverpool since 2006, joining the side for £6 million. Agger played 33 games last season in all competitions for Liverpool and looks to be a permanent fixture for years to come, unless Manchester City can tempt him away from Anfield. Manchester City have been surprisingly quiet in this summer transfer period despite trying to offload Emmanuel Adebayor and Roque Santa Cruz.
