Man City Transfers: 10 DREAM Signings Manuel Pellegrini Could Make
5. Luke Shaw
As well as another centre-back, City would also do well to sign a new left-back this month. Aleksandar Kolarov is currently first-choice in this position but he has very little in the way of an understudy with Gael Clichy only playing nine minutes of league football since New Year's Day. And that could be one of the reasons why Pellegrini is weighing up a move for Southampton's highly-rated youngster Luke Shaw, who has been making waves this season. Shaw helped the Saints keep a mean defensive record at the start of the season and his impressive performances have also put Manchester United and Chelsea on alert. But City are planning to blow both out of the water with a mega £30 million bid for the highly-talented starlet, which would see Shaw replace Danny Alves as the most expensive full-back in world football. Should the move go through, the Citizens would consolidate left-back for years to come with the 18-year-old's best years still ahead of him.
