Man City Transfers: 5 Blockbuster Signings That Would Attract Pep Guardiola

3. Luka Modric

Modric Luka Modric was once considered one of the best, most creative midfielders in the Premier League during his playing days with Tottenham Hotspur. His performances were so impressive that he was consistently linked with moves to the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea before he was eventually sold to Real Madrid for £33 million last summer. But he has been something of a flop at the Bernabeu and even suffered the ignominy of being voted "worst Spanish signing of the season" last month having only managed a lacklustre two goals at Madrid. The likes of Xabi Alonso and Mesut Ozil have kept the Croatian out in the cold in the Spanish capital and he could soon be making a swift return to the Premier League. That has alerted Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini who has previously expressed his admiration for him. And signing Modric from one of Barcelona's fiercest of rivals would be a bit of a coup for Guardiola, also. Source(s): Daily Mail
