Man City Transfers: 8 Last Minute Signings That Could Happen

3. Neymar (Barcelona)

For all the talk over the last 12 months about Lionel Messi and how, if he were somehow to leave Barcelona, Manchester City would be the only club with the financial muscle to lure him in; it's not actually ever going to happen. However, as reported by The Mirror before the transfer window opened, setting the club's sights slightly more moderately might yet bare fruit. Acknowledging interest from the Manchester club, Neymar refused to be drawn on his future, simply alluding that "life is long". Not exactly a come-and-get-me plea to City, but certainly an indication that he doens't intend on staying at the Camp Nou forever. Neymar's abilities are obvious, his strengths are unquestionable and, given his pedigree in Spain, could easily be the best player in the Premier League almost overnight. If City are worried about a hole being left by Kevin De Bruyne, breaking their transfer record (let's face it, they'd have to) to bring in Neymar immediately turns it into an opportunity.
