Man City vs Everton - 5 Reasons Why Toffee's Undefeated Streak Is About To End

4. Man City's Attacking Threat

I take nothing away from the credible results earnt thus far by Everton, they have deserved to win the games they have and 12 points from the opening 6 games would have been regarded as a success prior to the start of the season. That being said I don't feel that the blue half of Liverpool have truly been tested by a strong front line. Chelsea are the only team in the top 12 that they have faced and beaten, having drawn with West Brom in a drab 0-0 towards the end of August. As much as I think Samuel Eto'o was a great player and still has something to offer I don't rate him highly against the strength of Man City. Eden Hazard hasn't found the same vein of form that saw him scare defences last year, Schurrle has been a flop thus far in my opinion and as a whole the Chelsea team Everton faced were at their most impotent. If you compare that to the power, skill and guile in the Man City side then I feel they will see their first defeat of the season on Saturday. The new boys Negredo, Jovetic, Fernandinho and Jesus Navas will be wanting to make a good impression early in the season and the great thing about the squad at Pellegrini's disposal is that there is competition for places. Taking that attacking flair aside you are still left with the experienced collection of Aguero, Silva, Nasri and Yaya Toure. Looking at the variety of player on offer I think that with the right weight of seasoned Premiership pro and feisty newcomer will unlock the Everton defence. A random stat to give support to the above claims - Man City have scored in their last 53 Premier League matches at home.
