Man City vs Man Utd - 5 Reasons Why Citizens Will Win

5. Yaya Toure

Ivorian Yaya Toure has made an emphatic start to the 2013-14 season. He currently sits as Manchester City's top goalscorer with 2 goals in the first 5 league games so far. An impressive return for the midfielder who managed 7 goals in 32 league games last season. Toure's partnership with Fernandinho has allowed him more freedom to roam and he has taken that freedom in his stride, evident from the goal he scored in Tuesday's 3-0 win at Plzen. United's defence will be used to the power of Yaya Toure, as will his counterpart for the afternoon - Marouane Fellaini. Fellaini actually stands an inch or so taller than Yaya so it could be up to the Ivorian to adapt his game to deal with the aerial and physical presence that he isn't used to when facing United (who's tallest central midfielder after Carrick and Fellaini is Darren Fletcher, 3 inches shorter than Toure) Yaya has been influential in the City midfield and he always seems to thrive in the Manchester derbies, so don't look past him having another influential role alongside Fernandinho this time round.
