Man Ud Transfers: 5 Players Louis Van Gaal Could Sign To Break British Record

1. Edinson Cavani

If Louis van Gaal does decide he wants to add more potency to his strike force this summer, he might opt for Paris Saint-Germain's unsettled Edinson Cavani. Cavani only joined PSG a year ago but has already grown disillusioned with life at the French club. According to reports in France, Cavani is set for showdown talks with the Paris side in the coming weeks and is pushing for an exit after claiming his club made him promises they did not keep when they landed him from Napoli last summer. The Uruguay international is unhappy with having to play second fiddle to Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and is angry with manager Laurent Blanc's decision to shunt him out wide. Cavani stoked the flames of transfer gossip linking him with a move away, and even suggested he could play in the Premier League next season, saying: "Premier League or the Bundesliga? I love both." The striker cost PSG £54 million when he joined from Napoli 12 months ago, and United can expect to pay at least that much if they are to bring him to England.
