Man United Transfers: 5 Left Backs To Replace Patrice Evra

5. Jetro Willems PSV Eindhoven's Dutch defender Willems was rumoured to be a long-term target of Moyes's predecessor Sir Alex Ferguson. As long as two years ago the Red Devils had him watched, according to the Metro. Since then Willems, who is still a teenager, has seen his stock rise. When injury ruled club teammate Erik Pieters out of representing The Netherlands at Euro 2012, he deputised. Despite a disastrous Clockwork Orange campaign in Poland and Ukraine, he remains one of Holland's brightest prospects. A move to Manchester United for this attacking left back would certainly result in Willems adding to the nine caps he has for his country so far. As PSV have more often than not lost out to Eredivisie rivals Ajax in the Dutch title race, however, he experience in top European matches is rather limited. What Moyes would be getting from Willems is a pacy, raw talent. He would have to learn and improve the defensive side of his game, but the potential is certainly there. In many ways, Willems is reminiscent of former Arsenal player Giovanni van Bronckhorst. As Moyes tries to put his stamp on United, however, whether he would go for a play tracked for so long by Ferguson remains to be seen.
