2. Eric Cantona

What is there left to be said of Eric Cantona? Brilliant. Enigmatic. Mad. Unhinged. Daring. Audacious. All words that have been used to describe the Frenchman down the years. He is one of the most unique players to have ever donned the Red of Manchester United and was absolutely adored by the legions of supporters who flocked to watch him in action, even after he karate-kicked a Crystal Palace fan at Selhurst Park in 1995. Even today he is one of United's most beloved players and is credited with grabbing Ferguson's fledglings by the scruff of the neck in the 1990's and dragging them to glory. A catalyst for United's success back then, there is little doubt. He banged in 69 goals for United throughout his five-year Old Trafford career following his move from Leeds United, and ended his playing career with the club in 1997, leaving United with fond memories and some of the greatest goals you are ever likely to see in the Premier League era.
