Man Utd: 5 Awesome Strikers And 5 That Sucked

1. Cristiano Ronaldo

Much like Rooney, Ronaldo arrived at Manchester United as an impetuous teenager, a raw talent with all the right jigsaw pieces, but in need of putting into place. That's precisely what Ferguson did with the future FIFA World Player of the Year and the veteran Scot is largely credited with moulding the second best player in the world today into the player he is now. He started his Old Trafford career modestly. Six strikes in his first season was followed by 9 in his second, and the goals would soon start flowing. As the Portuguese' started to adapt to life in England, the floodgates thus opened and in 2007/08 he plundered a scorching 42 in 49 appearances for United, helping him to the Ballon d'Or and United to the Champions League. Unfortunately, that belting, record-breaking season attracted interest from Real Madrid, and he left United for the Spanish Giants in 2009 in a transfer record-breaking £80 million deal. Considered second best player in the world today, just behind Lionel Messi, Ron has often credited Sir Alex Ferguson for shaping him into the world beater we know today. Those were five of the best strikers under Ferguson's era, now click "next" to see five of the worst.
