Man Utd: 5 Factors That Prove David Moyes Is Still The Man For The Job

5. He Hasn't Been Given A Chance To Really Prove Himself

Let's not forget when debating whether Moyes should be in the job at all that the season is only 14 games old. Yes the busy Christmas period is coming, but the former Preston boss needs at least a season to make the squad his own. It is a well known fact that once upon a time the great Sir Alex Ferguson was in danger of losing his job, and didn't win anything during his first four years at the club, but they stuck with him and the rest as they say is history. Why can't anyone allow Moyes the same time and space to stamp his authority on the team? He was chosen by Ferguson himself to lead the team, and he hasn't done a bad job by any stretch of the imagination so far. Sir Alex was always going to be a tough act to follow, and with many used to United always being the leaders and team to beat, they need to give their new coach some time to build his squad up to how he wants it. The 50-year-old has never been in charge of a club challenging for honours, and he needs time to adapt to his surroundings much like a player does when he first arrives at a new club.
