Man Utd: 5 Reasons Why Shinji Kagawa Can Be David Moyes' Star Man

4. He Is The Creative Player They Lack

Over the summer the club were talking about and searching for a midfielder that could create chances, either in a deeper role or further up the pitch. In the end they got neither, buying Fellaini who really should only be a last resort when other methods have failed. In Kagawa they have a player capable of playing in between the lines of midfield and attack, and one who thrives in tight spaces, using his sleight frame to wriggle through and spark an opportunity for his side. He is also able to play the killer pass to a striker ahead of him, and with talk of Sneijder being looked at over the summer, you find yourself asking why did they bother even considering the option of the Holland international? United have a developed version of Sneijder, with Kagawa showing he is part of the next generation of playmakers, and that he is not a player who will stick to his No.10 position and stay there. He is fluid and energetic, willing to work to win the ball high up the pitch and still have the composure to play in other players. Signing Sneijder would be a step back in tactical terms, and if Moyes can realise that Kagawa can be the future, he will start proving his worth to the team.
