Manchester United stretched their lead at the top of the Premier League table to an imperious 12 points by taking full advantage of City's calamitous defeat to Southampton by beating Everton 2-0 in February. Sir Alex Ferguson was planning to make wholesale changes to his starting XI with a Champions League clash against Real Madrid looming on the horizon, yet he later admitted to instead playing his strongest team possible against David Moyes' side after watching City succumb to defeat the day before, and his title-chasing troops ran out easy winners. This game was memorable in that veteran Ryan Giggs would get his name on the scoresheet, meaning he now has a legendary record of having scored in every single Premier League season since its inception.
