Man Utd Dream XI For The Premier League Opener

Angel di Maria - Right Wing

Manchester United have suffered in the wide areas recently with the likes of Ashley Young, Antonio Valencia and Nani all proving ineffectual in the past - and that's especially true of Young. It perhaps wouldn't come as a great surprise then to see Louis van Gaal sign a new winger this summer. United have been linked with Angel di Maria of late, with the midfielder set to be deemed surplus to requirements at Real Madrid following the imminent arrival of James Rodriguez. Van Gaal could take advantage of this situation and sign the pacey Argentine this summer to give his side more flair in the wide areas. Di Maria was one of Argentina's better players at the World Cup, scoring the crucial winner against Switzerland to help his country through to the quarter-finals, while he scored 11 goals and created 26 assists for Real last season, helping them to their tenth Champions League crown. He would certainly give United more impetus going forward next season, though Paris Saint Germain are also interested in the South American, and it remains to be seen where he ends up in 2014-15.
