Problems with Alexis Sánchez could scupper the deal.

Chilean journalist Maks Cárdenas posted on Twitter that Man Utd are the leading candidates to sign 31-year old Bayern Munich midfielder Arturo Vidal this summer.

Cárdenas said that his fellow countrymen has attracted interest from Old Trafford, and also claimed that a deal could be done for as little as "€35 million" (around £30 million) very soon. As Chile haven't qualified for the 2018 World Cup in Russia, it's a good time to do business with the Bayern man.

Though Vidal is currently recovering from a serious knee injury and underwent arthroscopic surgery in April, he is expected to be fit for pre-season.

A serial winner, having bagged four Serie A titles with Juventus and three back-to-back Bundesliga crowns in Munich, Vidal would be the combative midfield man Utd fans traditionally love. On top of that, he knows what it means to win, and that's surely something José Mourinho wants at his club.

The only snag, reported by TEAMTalk, is that Vidal doesn't really get on with Alexis Sánchez, and those personal problems could scupper any potential deal if the pair can't be convinced to settle their differences.
