Man Utd: Park Ji-Sung's 5 Best Moments As A Red Devil

5. First Ever Asian Captain of United

During his time at United, Park Ji-Sung became something of a trailblazer, setting numerous records throughout his seven-season stay at the Theatre of Dreams. One of which involved becoming the club's first ever Asian captain when, in a 2005 Champions League game, he replaced Ryan Giggs in a home group match against Lille, taking the armband as he came on. It marked the first ever time that a player from outside of Europe has captained the Red Devils, with Park joining a famous list of players to have done so, including Bobby Charlton, Steve Bruce, Bryan Robson, Eric Cantona and Roy Keane. Park set the standard for Asian players in Europe and records like this will ensure he will long be remembered as the continent's best-remembered football player for many more years to come.
