Man Utd Transfer News: Anderson Has Fiorentina Medical

Manchester United midfielder Anderson is undergoing a medical at Fiorentina ahead of a move to the Serie A outfit, according to the BBC. Fiorentina's Twitter account uploaded a picture of the Brazilian having an examination ahead of the proposed transfer to Italy. Anderson endured something of a disappointing career during his six-and-a-half season stay at Old Trafford, scoring just nine times from 177 appearances. He arrived from Porto in 2007 but has struggled to adapt since, under both Sir Alex Ferguson and his successor David Moyes, starting just three games since the latter took charge. Anderson arrived at the same time as fellow midfielder Nani in a combined, £30 million deal, and has only completed 90 minutes of football once since the start of last season. That came in the thrilling 5-5 draw with West Brom that ended United's title-winning campaign in May 2013. His last appearance for the Red Devils was against Stoke in the Capital One Cup on December 18. Moyes is looking to strengthen his squad in January but has admitted that could be difficult as suitable players may not be available this month. Marouane Fellaini was the only new arrival at Old Trafford in the last window. Fiorentina are currently fourth in Serie A, 15 points adrift of run-away leaders Juventus.
