Man Utd Transfer News: Arturo Vidal REJECTS Red Devils?

Has Arturo Vidal ruled out a move to United this summer?

Manchester United could have just been dealt a crushing blow in their pursuit of Arturo Vidal with the Juventus midfielder appearing to rule out a switch to Old Trafford this summer, according to the Express. The Reds had been hoping to pull off a deal before next Monday's transfer deadline day but may now have to pursuit other targets. Vidal was understood to have agreed personal terms with United on wages of £182,000-a-week over the course of a five-year contract, however the Chilean has put paid to those claims by dropping the bombshell news that he is set to stay in Turn instead beyond Monday night's cut-off point. He is quoted as saying:
"At this point I do not go away, I stay at Juventus."
United chiefs had been confident the former Bayer Leverkusen man would become the next big name to join Louis van Gaal's revolution following the British transfer record breaking capture of Angel di Maria from Real Madrid, but Vidal's words will come as a massive set-back to those hopes. Vidal's revelation will come as a shock to van Gaal, as his statement would seem to imply that had United made their move earler in the window, things might well have been very different. The Dutchman has already earmarked a number of 'plan B' options, and is apparently chasing Sporting Lisbon midfielder William Carvalho, though will still be devastated to miss out on his primary target.
