Man Utd Transfer News: David Moyes Monitoring Ander Herrera

Telegraph. United were linked with the 24-year-old over the summer but failed to land the Spain international on transfer deadline day after Moyes refused to meet Bilbao's £30.5 million asking fee. Moyes is uncertain that Herrera is ready to be a first team regular at Old Trafford and will monitor the youngster when he lines up against Granada on Monday. Having only added Maroaune Fellaini to his senior squad over the summer, the ex-Everton manager admitted recently that he needs two top-quality additions to his side in order to boost their title prospects this season. He has identified an attacking midfielder as a priority, and could therefore re-enter the market for Herrera, while he is also expected to return to his former club for left-back Leighton Baines. Baines was another top target over the summer with Moyes making two bids for the England international, of £12 million and a £28 million offer that was also to include Fellaini. United's only other acquisition this summer was rookie right-back Guillermo Varela, who joined from Peñarol for an undisclosed fee.
