Man Utd Transfer News: Henrik Larsson Jnr To Join Old Trafford?
Manchester United are said to be targeting Swedish striker Jordan Larsson, the son of legendary Celtic front-man Henrik Larsson, according to the Daily Mirror. The 16-year-old striker, shown pictured with his Dad ten years ago during SPL celebrations, is currently playing for Swedish fourth division club Hodaborks BK, and could follow his dad's footsteps in becoming a United player if the interest is maintained. The move could be completed as soon as this month, and young Jordan would join the academy ranks should a deal be concluded. The interest in the player appears to be long-standing, with United, Manchester City, and Liverpool linked to the player over a year ago, and it remains to be seen whether other top English and European clubs attempt to compete for his signature. The player has trained with FC Barcelona in the past; being a part of their famous academy and playing for Barcelona's junior side FC Escola while his father played for the Catalan giants.. His father Henrik played 13 times for United during a brief stint at the Manchester club in 2007, but it is his spells at Celtic and FC Barcelona for which he will be remembered. The Swedish hit-man scored an impressive 242 goals in 315 competitive matches in seven years at Parkhead, winning four Scottish Premier titles with Celtic, before moving to Barcelona, where he won 2 La Liga titles and the 2006 Champions League. He also was capped 106 times for Sweden, for whome he played in three World Cups and three European Championships.
