Man Utd Transfer News: Moyes Confident On Fabregas & Lewandowski Deals

Daily Mail. The ex-Everton boss would ideally like to have the Barcelona midfielder and Borussia Dortmund striker at Old Trafford before the squad depart on a pre-season tour of Australia and Asia in the middle of July. And it is understood both have expressed an interest in joining the Premier League champions, in spite of interest from elsewhere. Fabregas, the ex-Arenal captain, is wanted by his former club, who have first refusal should Barca sell due to an agreement reached between the pair as part of the deal that saw the Spain midfielder move to the Nou Camp in 2011. Meanwhile, Champions League winners Bayern Munich have been heavily linked with Lewandowski. But United are confident of securing both players, and hope Fabregas will find Old Trafford a more attractive destination having already spent eight years of his career in North London, while Munich's hopes of landing Lewandowski were apparently dashed this week. United have been tracking the Polish international since last December and will have been impressed by his phenomenal season at Dortmund this year, which saw him score 36 goals in 48 overall appearances and also finish just behind former Red Devil Cristiano Ronaldo in the Champions League scoring charts as he fired his team to this year's Wembley final. His arrival though would raise yet more questions over the future of Wayne Rooney, who has reportedly asked to leave the club for the second time in three years.
