Man Utd Transfers: 10 Deals That Should Happen In January

7. Kevin Strootman IN

Rumours of Kevin Strootman joining Manchester United just won€™t die down, particularly since the Roma midfielder came so close to sealing a move last summer but for a knee injury. Like it or not, another transfer saga involving the Dutchman is likely to dominate the upcoming winter window. Strootman is likely to consider the prospect of working with former national team boss Louis van Gaal a tempting factor, not mention the Red Devils€™ surge up the Premier League table in recent weeks. The 24-year-old has made two league appearances for Roma since recovering from a serious knee injury suffered in March. When fit, Strootman can be a key player for Rudi Garcia€™s, meaning a move for the midfielder will require a decent chunk of money. Reports indicate £30million is likely to be enough for the Serie A outfit to consider offloading the player, but given United have spent £215million on signings since September 2013, the club may urge Van Gaal to wait until the end of the season to make his move. But then again, this is modern-day football, when success is usually prioritised over finances. Probability: 5/10
