Man Utd Transfers: 10 Midfield Alternatives To Arturo Vidal

6. Paul Pogba (Juventus)

There is no doubt that United will be kicking themselves that they were unable to hold on to French midfield sensation Paul Pogba, who now plies his trade alongside Arturo Vidal at Juventus. Pogba was picked up by United from Le Havre in France as a teenager, and despite showing incredible potential for the Red Devils' youth teams, Sir Alex Ferguson never gave Pogba a real chance to break into the first team. The 21-year-old said recently that he knew his time at Old Trafford was up when full back Rafael and Ji-Sung Park were selected ahead of him for a Premier League game with Blackburn at the end of 2011. Blaming Ferguson for his unhappiness, Pogba turned down the offer of a new contract at United and joined Juventus on a free transfer in 2012, establishing himself as one of world football's brightest young talents. United have been linked with a renewed swoop for Pogba - who starred for his country at the World Cup - but his price has now sky rocketed to what is reported to be in the region of £60 million. With Chelsea, Paris Saint Germain and Real Madrid interested too, United may have seen this talent slip through their fingers for good.
