Rumours have abounded about the future of the Tottenham Hotspur and England ace since he made blasé remarks about player movement during a BBC interview at the end of May.

Noting that 'A player might feel that he's done enough at Tottenham and might fancy a change', and how Spurs were a 'nearly club', many observers read beyond his hypotheticals in suggesting he may be keen to seek his fortunes elsewhere.

Manchester United could possibly offer Luke Shaw as a like-for-like switch in an effort to bring the industrious left back to Old Trafford, but Jose Mourinho could be intent on improving his squad overall, and insist on keeping both on the books as options for the long season the team are likely to endure.

Rumours linking Tottenham to Monaco's Djibril Sidibe and Fulham's Ryan Sessengnon imply that the club are preparing for life without Rose, who has been an integral part of Mauricio Pochettino's transformative tenure at the club.

Rose would end a decade-long relationship with Spurs, but could form part of a new dynasty as part of an aggressively evolving Manchester United under 'The Special One'.
