A victim of what now appears to have been a misguided ego trip from Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola at the start of his tenure, Joe Hart has had a challenging season on loan at Torino despite the club achieving a respectable 9th place finish in last season's Serie A.

General dissatisfaction with Hart's displays have been no secret, with Torino's president Urbano Cairo infamously commenting that 'We probably didn't expect so many mistakes from an England International'.

The club had previously shown interest in re-signing Hart for another season-long loan, but have since cooled on the deal, triggering Guardiola to authorise his sale to the highest bidder.

Though surplus to requirements, reports have suggested that Hart's fee will increase depending on the team that elects to sign him up. By virtue of their shared place in the Champions League alongside City, United would be required to fork out £25million for their unwanted stopper.

This may seem inflated for a player effectively frozen out of his own team, but the aforementioned exit of David De Gea may leave Jose Mourinho no choice but to take a punt on a keeper with proven Premier League pedigree.
