Club: Everton Position: Left Back Value: £15 - 20m Everton's strong start to the season will inevitably mean that their best performers will attract more interest from so-called "bigger" clubs, or those with bulging pockets - add to that, in the case of Leighton Baines, prior interest from one of the country's biggest clubs and the likelihood of Everton holding on to those stars shortens dramatically. Towards the tail-end of the summer transfer window, United were linked with a move for the former Wigan man, before signing Alexander Buttner to offer competition to Patrice Evra this season. But with Evra not looking as strong as he has in past seasons, and Buttner still something of an unknown quantity in the Premier League, Sir Alex should turn back to Baines, who has bags of top level English experience, and would fit straight into the team. His delivery from set-pieces and open play, as well as his willingness to join in with attacks makes him a serious good talent, and one who United should bring in to add further options from deep to bring Robin Van Persie the service he needs to score more than 20 goals this season.
