If Manchester United fail with a move for Angel Di Maria, they could switch their attentions back to his Madrid teammate Fabio Coentrao. United went in for the versatile Portugal international on transfer deadline day but the summer window slammed shut and the deal dramatically failed to come to fruition. But Moyes hasn't given up hope, with Coentrao's name
still very much on his wishlist. Coentrao can play left-back, on the left wing and can even operate as a defensive midfielder - three areas of the pitch United are weak in - given that Patrice Evra is nearing retirement and Marouane Fellaini hasn't yet settled - making the capture of the Madrid man seem ideal. He's also unwanted at Real - he's only played four La Liga games all season - and the Spanish giants are unlikely to block his exit this winter.
