Man Utd Transfers: 5 Alternatives To Gareth Bale

1. Cesc Fabregas

Fabregas The disappointment of missing out on Gareth Bale could be abated somewhat if United finally convince Barcelona into selling Cesc Fabregas. This summer's transfer window has so far been a frustrating one for fans of the English champions, with the Red Devils missing out on a number of top targets already, such as Thiago Alcantara, Radamel Falcao, James Rodríguez and Robert Lewandowski. A dose of good news on the transfer front is much needed at Old Trafford if David Moyes is to keep morale in the terraces high ahead of his, and United's, new era next season and the announcement that Fabregas has been signed would help do exactly that. It is centre-midfield that is arguably most in need of improvement this summer with Paul Scholes retired, Ryan Giggs on his way and Darren Fletcher set to miss the start of the season due to his on-going battle with ulcerative colitis. Meanwhile, there are continuing doubts over the future of Anderson while Michael Carrick turned 32 last month. An injection therefore of new blood into the engine room is vital and Fabregas is perhaps the perfect fit and, dare we say it, the heir apparent to Scholes. Who do you think United should sign instead of Gareth Bale this summer? Let us know in the comment section, below.
